Every person who is involved in agriculture knows that eggplants have their origins in ancient times and came to the Old Continent somewhere around the 15th century from Asia. In this country, the aubergine is mistakenly known as the 'blue tomato', even though it is still in the same family as the tomato and also the potato and the dog grape.

When looking after this tasty and useful vegetable, you should allow for nearly 2 500 pieces of the plant per acre of land.

The Classic F1 eggplant is sown from 15 January to 15 April. This is done in deep and loose, medium-heavy soils at 1,5 to 2 cm in the soil. It is sown both in the greenhouse and outside.

Planting of these aubergines is done in the first days of May, once the frost has passed.

The growing period of the Classic F1 eggplant lasts about 15 days, according to the catalogue of the semenata.bg online shop.

The plants prefer a temperature range above 16 degrees during the germination period and from 22 to 28 degrees during their development. They like light and moisture, so water regularly, and during the growing season it is a good idea to give the Classic F1 aubergines 450 to 500 cubic metres of water per acre to ensure proper development.

Eggplants make vigorous, strong, highly branched stems as long as they are properly tended and the planting is given the minimum care required for the variety. Their fruit is of the early-ripening variety, it is slightly elongated and oval, its flowers are in the range of dark-maroon, with a shiny glossy skin and deliciously appetising flesh inside.

In this country, Classic F1 aubergines are equally sought after by the average housewife and by traders in shops, markets and auctions throughout the country.

Aubergines are mainly used for cooking fresh, after compulsory heat treatment. It is used to make delicious and healthy salads, side dishes, hors d'oeuvres and appetizers, as well as dishes such as moussaka, casseroles, kyopoolu, imam bayaldi and many others; it is also suitable for making nutritious and healthy winter dishes.

It is good to know that before consumption, the aubergine must be freed from its characteristic bitter taste. This is done by cutting the vegetable into wedges, salting them and arranging them on gauze to season well, according to the catalogue of the
