It is with great pleasure that we want to introduce you to the varieties of vegetables with the always juicy and large leaves - Cabbage.

The benefits that the consumption of cabbage has on human health are many. The good news is that cabbage comes in at least 13 varieties. Each species has many similarities with the others, as well as many differences, and it is believed that one always surpasses the other in some way.

Among the types of cabbage are some of the most useful, nutritious, and tasty vegetables, such as white cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, kale, collard greens, and Brussels sprouts.
The characteristic feature of all of these is the presence of a round and large head in the center of the vegetable and a high tolerance to low temperatures.

In this category, however, we will pay special attention to white cabbage. What characterizes this representative is a well-formed round white head, covered with green leaves, one part of which dissolves, like a leaf rosette, and the other is curled into a spherical formation. The plant is biennial, and in the first year of its development, it forms its cabbage, and in the second, the flower-bearing stems develop, on which the flowers bloom.

As a main representative of the Cabbage species, the cephalic species is endowed with moderate cold resistance. It can tolerate negative temperatures, but for successful development, cabbage needs temperatures of 15-20°C.

The main advantage of white cabbage, over other representatives of Cabbage, is its content of vitamin U. In fact, it is one of the few vegetables that are equipped with this vitamin. It is this vitamin that has a beneficial effect on the gastric and intestinal mucosa and normalizes the acidity in the stomach. For this reason, the consumption of white cabbage is highly recommended for people who suffer from gastrointestinal diseases.

In fact, white cabbage is made up of a wholesome cocktail of vitamins. In its content, vitamins A, vitamin C, and vitamins of B group stand out. In terms of vitamin C content, cabbage surpasses even lemon and is a valuable source of vitamin B4, also called choline. This vegetable is also enriched with dietary fiber, fructose, carotene, and many minerals, such as potassium, calcium, copper, and zinc.

In addition to many useful properties, cabbage is also characterized by nutritional properties. Its application in cooking is wide and quite popular. Since white cabbage is extremely useful for gastrointestinal diseases, it is recommended as a dietary food.

Popular dishes that can't seem to be prepared without this useful cabbage are cream soup and borscht. It is recommended to eat it in a salad, breaded, stewed, and baked.
