One of the most widespread and well-known old Bulgarian varieties of tomatoes Ideal is part of the rich catalogue of Online store semenata.bg. These quality seeds are produced by the first Bulgarian private company Geosemselect Ltd. for the production of hybrid and direct vegetable varieties.

Ideal tomatoes have long been a favorite of generations of Bulgarians, as well as visitors to our country. The old Bulgarian variety is a medium-early tomato with a memorable sweet taste and a strong, captivating tomato aroma.

Ideal are medium-sized and have an average weight of around 150-180 grams, although some specimens can reach 200-300 grams in size under optimal growing conditions on farms. The fruit of this type of old Bulgarian tomato variety is juicy with a delicate flavour, almost perfectly round and of medium firmness, convenient for storage and transport.

Ideal tomatoes are renowned as one of the tastiest varieties in Slovenia. It is favoured for eating raw and fresh in salads (such as the Shops, Radish, Shepherd's and other Bulgarian recipes). It is also used in cooking various lean and meat dishes, for sauces, tomato juices and ketchup, for chutney and tomato puree, for canning whole, chopped, peeled or unpeeled.

For sowing 1 hectare of production area, 15 to 20 grams of varietal seeds of old Bulgarian Ideal tomatoes are needed (if you prepare seedlings in advance). For direct sowing you will need about 200 g of seeds. They germinate quickly and are ready in about 14 to 18 days after sowing, for which you need a temperature range of 18 to 20 degrees Celsius.

Transplanting is done two months later. The rows should be spaced about 80-120 cm apart and the individual plants in each row about 35-40 cm apart. For 100 square metres, 300 to 400 Ideal tomato seedlings are optimally planted, advise the experts at semenata.bg.

It is not by chance that they call this variety "one of the Bulgarian wonders". It is very popular among vegetable growers, as well as among housewives, restaurateurs, traders, people in the canning industry and visitors to our country, who simply cannot imagine the famous tomato salad without the Ideal tomato.

The variety is of the medium-early variety, grows without height restriction, and produces a high yield. Its vegetation lasts from 100 to 110 days, according to the producer's data.
